Where: Reading Room
When: 7 February–14 March, Thursdays – Saturdays, 10am–5pm
Alongside the We Feed The UK exhibition, we are hosting Notts Seed Network’s Seed Library in the Reading Room at Primary. This seed library is part of a community project and a shared resource. Please take what you need, grow what you can, and if possible return seed!
How to use the seed library
• Take seeds that you will genuinely grow
• Choose varieties suited to your space and season
• No money required. This works on trust and care
• You do not have to return seed, but we encourage it where possible to keep the network library alive
If you are new to seed saving, start small and with easy crops to save such as peas, french beans, and tomatoes.
A few important notes
• These seeds are shared freely
• Germination rates will vary
• Open-pollinated seeds can be saved at home, but without proper pollination and isolation methods, the resulting plants may not be true to type
• Please do not save or return F1 hybrid seed
Nottingham Seed Network supports the growing, saving, and sharing of open-pollinated seeds across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. Established in 2026, it’s grown out of the Nottingham Seed Sovereignty project and is a member of The Gaia Foundation Seed Sovereignty Programme’s Northern Seed Network.
