Schedule

Storytelling: Ejaradini
1:00pm-1:30pm

This event is free, and everyone is welcome. Limited places due to capacity around the installation; please email jade@weareprimary.org if you would like to visit. Please email terri@weareprimary.org if you have any access requirements.

Ejaradini is a site-specific structural installation featuring archival images, plants, and text panels on the façade of Primary. This exhibition is the first time that Primary has utilised the street-facing outdoor space on the Grade II listed building, visible from Ilkeston Road.

Head over to the installation to hear more about the stories behind some of the plants and archival images. You could even bring seeds as offerings that could be swapped, shared with guests, or planted in the structure during the growing season.

Skillshare: Strawberry Cordial
Workshop
1:30pm-3:00pm

This event is free, and everyone is welcome. Please email jade@weareprimary.org to book your place.

Learn from Antoinette Thompson how to make homemade strawberry cordial. She will share different recipes and ways to use the syrup as a condiment or ingredient. One bottle has many uses, and it can be diluted with sparkling water for healthy 'fizz', or try adding spices and herbs for non-alcoholic drinks. Cordial syrups make amazing toppings for fruit salad, ice cream, or they can be a base for milkshakes and smoothies.

Antoinette attended the Ejaradini Garden Talks  during last summer. We invited her to facilitate a Skillshare as an opportunity to learn, meet new people, and discuss the resources and skills we can share in our communities.

“Along with many people, I began gardening during the long periods of lockdown. Although I am still a novice gardener, I have developed a real interest in growing and cooking and love sharing the 'fruits' of my success with others. In this workshop, I would like to challenge the idea of the 'expert cook' and the 'expert grower' and show that anyone can convert home-grown into worthwhile produce.” — Antoinette
