Sounds of Lockdown: Podcast Release

We are excited to announce the release of the Sounds of Lockdown podcast, a journey through sound and music created by Parmjit Sagoo, Jaya Gordon-Moore, Craig Hill (Rap name: C.A.S.E), Daud Xiddig and Dom Hubner.

How to listen: Sounds of Lockdown will be released on Soundcloud and Spotify at 4pm on Friday 26 March, and will be featured on FMB Radio from 6pm.

If lockdown was a rhythm, what would it be? Primary has worked with Mojatu Foundation, Fearless Youth Association (FYA), and FMB Radio on a new project, 'Sounds of Lockdown'. A group of local young people aged 16-25 took part in a series of sessions to produce a podcast or radio show focused on stories, thoughts, and reflections about the lockdown. The Sounds of Lockdown podcast is a journey through sound and music created by Parmjit Sagoo, Jaya Gordon-Moore (JayaHadADream), Craig Hill (C.A.S.E), Daud Xiddig and Dom Hubner. In 2020, musician Jaya Gordon-Moore and creative practitioner Parmjit Sagoo worked with three young musicians – Craig, Daud and Dom – to create a podcast that reflects on their experiences of the past year. They used creative activities, writing, spoken word, music, rap and sampling to create individual and collective audio pieces. Sounds of Lockdown opened up a space to talk about the challenges of life during the Covid-19 pandemic, including mental health impacts, and share personal stories and reflections. The project also provided a creative outlet and led to new collaborations and the podcast amplifies young talent.

The project has been developed as a collaboration between Primary, Fearless Youth Association (FYA), and FMB Radio.
