When: Friday 12 September, 5-9 pm
Quiet Hour: 5-6 pm (gentler opening with fewer crowds and no bar — please wear a mask)
Where: Gallery 1 & 2

We’re excited to announce that Primary Lates is back! Primary, TG and Beam will be open on the 12 September, 6–9 pm; please celebrate with us by coming along for drinks and music. The quiet hour from 5–6 pm allows people to enjoy the exhibitions with fewer crowds and no bar, please do respect this and wear a mask if you are able to during this part of the evening.

Primary’s exhibition, Flat, showcases paintings and sculptures by Primary studio holders and members Louisa Chambers, Craig Fisher, Lynn Fulton, and Sam Metz. Taking place on both floors, it explores the concept of ‘flatness’ in abstraction. TG showcases painting and drawings from Gurminder Sikand. From 6pm onwards, Beam will offer a DJ set by Joff of rare 1970s civil rights movement jazz, plus local beers from Cat Asylum Brewery.

Access:

Flat will be partly located on our ground-floor gallery space, which has full, level access from our main entrance on Seely Road. However, there is no step-free access to our first-floor gallery space or to TG. Any films in Gallery 2 will be available to watch on a monitor in the Reading Room.

Large print, braille, and easy-read versions of the Flat exhibition text will be available at our Reception; please ask our Front of House Assistant for details. Check back on this page for an audio version of the exhibition text.

You can find further access information on our website’s Visit Us page and via AccessAble.
