How to Write an Access Rider with Neuk Collective

When: Tuesday 29 September, 6-8pm

Where: Online via zoom

Booking: Free to Kaleidoscope members. Book via link here

The event will be hosted on Zoom and live captioning will be available.

Join Amy Milner and Tzipporah Johnston from Neuk Collective for a practical, supportive workshop on understanding your access needs and beginning to write an Access Rider.

Access Riders help you communicate what you need to work well with organisations, venues, collaborators, funders or employers. They can be useful for requesting adjustments, setting expectations and starting conversations about access.

During this interactive workshop, we’ll use guided prompts to help you identify and articulate your needs across areas such as communication, sensory access, fatigue, mobility, social interaction and ways of working. We’ll also look at what an Access Rider can include, different ways to structure one, and when and how you might choose to share it.

You do not need to arrive already knowing exactly what your access needs are, and you are not expected to finish your Rider during the session. The aim is to leave with a clearer understanding of your needs and a strong starting point to develop afterwards.

Participants will also receive a workbook, example Access Riders and a collection of useful resources.

The event will be hosted on Zoom and live captioning will be available.
