Biodiversity Day

  • Primary 33 Seely Road Nottingham, NG7 1NU United Kingdom (map)

When: Saturday 5 July, 11am-4pm
Where: Primary Garden
Booking: Free drop-in event

A day to celebrate nature in the city and take part in a community Bioblitz – to discover and record the plants, fungi, insects and animals on Primary’s site.

We’ll be joined by nature enthusiasts and experts to explore what’s living on our doorstep. Take part to help find and identify as many different species as we can – everything we find will be documented and passed on to local and national databases that monitor wildlife.

11am-2pm: Join Lorna, Linda and Tim to learn about plants, insects, birds and animals living in Primary’s outdoor areas and record your finds as we go.

2-4pm: Creative family activities led by artist Rachel Jacobs, celebrating wildlife in urban spaces.

The Bioblitz will continue throughout the day. The information we collect will help form baseline data to help Primary plan changes to our site to make more space for nature and increase biodiversity.

All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. Hot and cold drinks provided.

Thanks to everyone contributing to the day:

Lorna Griffiths is the City Nature Recovery Officer for Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust
