New Art Exchange, joined the Primary Board as a Corporate Director in 2011 as it was felt that there was a synergy between the venues both geographically and in the way in which each organisation wished to learn and share from this partnership. New Art Exchange is the largest dedicated facility for contemporary visual arts outside of London and offers stimulating new perspectives about diversity in art and society, focusing specifically on African, Caribbean, South Asian identities and culturally diverse expressions.

Since its launch in 2008, the organisation has commissioned and exhibited many emerging to international artists including Zineb Sedira, Harminder Singh Judge, Raghu Rai, Primary resident artist Nadim Chaudry, Ed Pien, Sokari Douglas Camp, Gerard Hanson, Tahira Aziz and Donald Locke to name a few, and participated and led on major events including British Art Show 7, Nottingham Mela and the Nottingham Annual Open. New Art Exchange was one of eight national organisations to be awarded the highly prestigious NESTA Digital R&D its first major commission ‘Floating Coffins’ by Zineb Sedira was recently bought by TATE Britain.

Skinder Hundal, is currently Chief Executive of New Art Exchange and his vocational experience and expertise is broad including: community and economic regeneration; enterprise development; research; business planning and organisational development/strategy; creative production; marketing/PR and audience development, broadcasting and arts administrational work within cross cultural and international arts.
