Alison’s practice involves walking alone, for considerable distances, keeping off the paths, striding and ‘contouring’ through moorland and mountainous areas.  Through a passage of movement incorporating walking and dancing Lloyd has documented elements of her life since the late 1970s.

On leaving Arts Council England in 2010 she returned to making work by documenting her own solitary pursuit of walking.  In 2014 she installed ‘Grains’ at TG Gallery. Alison is also a PhD Scholar at Loughborough University, School of Art.  Her area of research is Walking, Women and Art.
