Work in Common: Summer Residencies

Work in Common is a series of short residencies that encourage artists to experiment with different ways of working – either testing out a speculative idea, or developing new collaborations. Each artist will use the spaces at Primary to produce and present work to an audience, through screening, rehearsal, performances, workshops and meals.
Nathalie Anguezomo Mba Bikoro: A History On Lateness
Thursday 11 July, 6-8pm
A visual and sonic lecture-performance on the practice of speaking with the ghosts of women entangled in colonial and post-colonial experiences.
Voices That Shake!
Friday 12 July, 6pm
An evening of readings, performance and discussion with Voices That Shake! – a collective which brings together young people, activists, educators, and artists to challenge social and climate injustice, with a focus on addressing racial inequality.
Richard John Jones: National Idiom
Saturday 27 July, 3pm
A performance drawing on the folk tradition of East-Lancashire clogging to explore the impact of technology on the body, working through and against systems of constraint and control.
An evening of screenings, readings, and performances framed by modes of improvisation, lying, and theatre.
