Environmental Improvisation
A creative performance and sonic walkabout with Dallas Simpson

Wednesday 24 May, 19.00–21.30

Join us for the first in a new series of walks around Radford and Lenton, as part of the Making Place programme.

Starting at Primary, Dallas Simpson will introduce us to environmental performance techniques – followed by a sound performance walkabout exploring the exterior of the building and the local environs. Using our hands and feet, and found objects, we will engage with the physical environment in the spirit of freeform improvisation to listen, experience, explore, discover and elicit sounds from silent objects and surfaces. Through the performance we’ll produce a unique spatio-temporal site specific soundscape, both from an individual and collective perspective – and will record audio and images from the experience.

After the performance we will return to Primary for food and discussion.

This event is open to all ages.

Limited spaces, booking essential.
