If You Put Out Your Hand is a collaboration between poet Helen Tookey and musician Sharron Kraus, with live support from guitarist Nick Jonah Davis that will be performed at Primary, Doors open from 7.30pm, performances from 8.30pm, bar & music till 11pm.
This live version of the project blends text, film and music, taking inspiration from the natural world and our ways of responding to it. The poems’ settings are gardens, river valleys, hills – and the symbolic landscapes of the mind, of dream and memory. Sharron Kraus’s beautifully spare music responds intuitively but precisely to the poems, with word and sound interweaving to form a set of new collaborative pieces. The book and CD were published by Wounded Wolf Press in 2016.
Tickets: £5 on the door and available here.
In association with Primary & Nottingham Poetry Festival.
