“What manner of theatre is it, in which we are at once playwright, actor, stage manager, scene painter and audience?”
- W.G Sebald’s Rings of Saturn
After two previous exhibitions at Primary and Nottingham Contemporary, Parallel Artist Network have chosen to respond to W.G. Sebald’s book The Rings of Saturn for the third public exhibition. For the last six months the artists have been immersed in reflection on Sebald’s text, engaging in regular reading groups to explore how The Rings of Saturn relates to their personal experiences and artistic practice.
Parallel is a multicultural artist collective originating from Taiwan, China, La Reunion, Brazil and the UK, that continues to expand its membership. It was established in 2015 by students on the MFA Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, and the collective are now resident at Primary preparing for their final show in October 2016.
