PRIMARY MEMORY, Heritage Open Days
Thursday 11–Saturday 13 September, 12:00–18:00

During the summer we have been collecting stories from people who worked or studied at the the former Douglas Primary School. In September, the interviews will be played as an audio installation as part of Heritage Open Days. Alongside the interviews, you can see an archive of images from throughout the school’s history.

On Saturday 13 September there will also be refreshments and activities in the playground, so bring the family!

Primary Memory is an ongoing archive of interviews about the history of the former Douglas Primary School – the grade II listed building where Primary is based – gathered by writer, performance maker and Primary resident, Michael Pinchbeck. The project began when Michael interviewed his mum, Vivienne Pinchbeck, and Carole Forsythe who worked in the nursery and infant schools and the former Deputy Headmaster Peter Wilson.
