PRIMARY MEMORY
June-September 2014

PRIMARY MEMORY is an ongoing archive of interviews about the history of the former Douglas Primary School – the grade II listed building where we are based – gathered by writer, performance maker and Primary resident, Michael Pinchbeck. The project began when Michael interviewed his mum, Vivienne Pinchbeck, and Carole Forsythe who worked in the nursery and infant schools and the former Deputy Headmaster Peter Wilson.

Over the coming months, we’re expanding the project, to collect more stories. In September, the interviews we collect will be played throughout the building as part of Heritage Open Days. If you were a student or staff member at Douglas Primary School and would like to add your memories of the building to the archive please get in touch.
