Old Skool Breaks 9: A Weaving Together
Craig Fisher & Michael Pinchbeck
13 – 28 March 2014
Opening Times: Friday 11:00-14:00 or by appointment
Preview and performance: Thursday 13 March, 18:00-20:00
Craig Fisher and Michael Pinchbeck connect their curatorial projects Mrs Rick’s Cupboard and The Drawing Board with a series of installations and handwritten performances in the stairwell at Primary. Inspired by Eugenio Barba’s proposition that: ‘The word text, before referring to a written or spoken, printed or manuscripted text, meant ‘a weaving together”, Fisher and Pinchbeck weave together their practices to explore the space between writing and painting, text and textile and speech and act. A Weaving Together knits and knots a narrative out of fragments found onsite at Primary and in the artists’ archives. The installation will be launched with a performance event.
The preview of Old Skool Breaks 9 will be followed on the same evening by a further event at Primary.
