The Rashleigh Jackson collection is filled with marvelous and magical things and the cabinets reflect the unexpected imagination of its founder. Compiled by artist Simon Withers the collection contains both mundane and bizarre ephemera, a collection of volcanic lava inside a Wonderloaf plastic bag and a box of seashells; each of which is appropriated with a pair of goggle eyes. The collection offers meditations on the Twentieth Century; two World Wars, the Cold War and 60’s and 70’s Pop culture. A publication with extrapolations by Wayne Burrows will accompany this exhibition. The Rashleigh Jackson Collection is curated by Abi Spinks.
