Our first Open Studios is nearly here and Primary is currently a hive of activity as we get ready to open. We will have installations by Rebecca Lee & Frank Abbott, a Pop Up Exhibition ‘The Shape of Human Depiction’ curated by Michael Forbes, ‘Primary Memory’ a sound piece by Michael Pinchbeck, a Primary Showreel and our guests OUTPOST will showing a work which features 12 Outpost artist’s members based across the UK and internationally. There will be an introduction by Glen Jamieson and the film is on two parts so there will be an opportunity to talk about the work . Features work by Georgie Grace, Yuki Kishino, Paul Harrison, Anna Lucas, Rehana Zaman and Matthew Ferguson. All this and lots of food, music and fun!

SATURDAY 20TH OCTOBER 1 – 5.30pm

1.30pm – Tour of building led by Rebecca Gamble, Resident Artist

3.15 – 5.30pm Studio A2 – OUTPOST Showreel

3.30pm – Café Con Brio (singer/performer Angela Warren and artist/performer Chris Lewis-Jones) will present a charming selection of European ballads

4.30pm – Tour of building led by Michelle Bowen, Development Director

SUNDAY 21ST OCTOBER 1 – 5.30pm

A selection of music will be provided through the day by Primary resident artists including Wayne Burrow and Rebecca Lee who will be inviting visitors to contribute to an audio intervention in one of the smaller spaces in Primary.

1.0 – 3.00pm Nu-Urban Gardeners (Chris Lewis-Jones and Simon Withers) present linear gardens as part of the national ‘Big Draw’ festival. Create linear gardens (with real soil, growing herbs and found objects) with the Nu-Urban Gardeners between 1.00 and 3.00 pm participants will be awarded a certificate of participation!

2.30 pm – Tour of building led by Georgina Barney, Resident Artist

3.00pm If weather permits, Simon Withers & Chris Lewis-Jones will perform ‘Jamming with Joe’, a selection of tunes played by Cyril Seaton (squeezeboxes) and Joe ‘the Octopus’ Gibson (drums) in the Bier Keller at the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich in 1917/18. Underneath the Arches in the playground
