Wayne Burrows has been commissioned to document the Hatching Space
events taking place during 2012, and began this month with accounts of
performances by Frank Abbott, Mamoru Iriguchi and the Hatch: Scratch
platform at Embrace Arts, Leicester, which can be read at:

Hatch is a Nottingham based organisation, founded by Michael Pinchbeck
and Nathaniel J Miller, and co-ordinated by Marie Bertram, which is
dedicated to bringing the ‘performance-y’ in all its various forms to
the city. Hatching Space is a new series of ten events – ranging from
double bills and 12-hour building takeovers to a coach trip and
revisiting of Nottingham’s original Playhouse, now Spanky Van Dyke’s
bar – taking place during 2012. Involving performers from both inside
and outside the East Midlands, companies and artists confirmed as
performing during Hatching Space include Third Angel, Olwen Davies and
Andy Field.

The next event takes place on Saturday July 21st, with performances taking place on a
coach journey to Manchester’s Hazard Festival.
